How do I know which size is right for my bird?
About Flightsuits provides a general guideline for sizing, but there are exceptions. If you are at
all unsure, Wanda would be glad to help you get the perfect-sitting suit for your avian friend.
We also offer custom-fitting for birds that are not on the sizing chart. To determine the right size
suit for your bird or to place a custom order, Wanda will need two measurements. To find these
measurements, use either a tape measure or something you can lay out next to a ruler and
follow these simple steps:
1. Work slowly and try to keep your feathered friend as calm as possible (we know this is
easier said than done!). It is best to allow your bird to play with the measuring
implement until he or she is comfortable with it. When your bird is calm and comfortable,
feel for the center of the shoulder blades and the area where the tail connects to the
bird. Once you have done this, place the measuring tape between the shoulder blades
and run it down to the area next to the tail.
Record Measurement 1.
Example - Step 1
2. The second measurement will be around the widest area of the bird, not including the
wings. So Next, Set your bird down and flatten the measuring take in front of its legs.

3. Raise the wings of the bird and pull the tape behind the wings and around the bird.

4. Lay the end of the tape next to the other end, on the back of the bird. Record
Measurement 2
.

5. Lastly, send Wanda (wanda@wandascrittersetc.com) the two recorded measurements
and she will get back to you as soon as possible with either the size that will best fit, or a
price quote of what a custom suit will cost.
